Patrick M. Villano School offers all students in fourth to sixth grade the opportunity to be part of an afterschool club every school year. This year, the school lined up a variety of clubs. Students select three clubs, and they’re given one of those choices. Clubs run on Wednesdays from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. for eight weeks. The first day of the afterschool clubs was on January 21, and the last is March 18.
The afterschool programs are the following: Arts and Crafts, Chess Club: Checkmate, Crochet Club, Divide and Conquer, Lego Robotics club, Math Games with Bad Drawing and Scrapbooking Club. Each of the clubs is run by one of Patrick M. Villano School’s teachers which makes the afterschool clubs more fun. Each of the clubs allows students to learn or continue learning in an area of interest. Memorial School also offders afterschool clubs. I have participated in the afterschool club since I started at Memorial School.
In the 2025-2026 school year, I am participating in the Arts and Crafts Club run by Breanne De Carlo. She teaches us to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary treasures and explore different techniques to create one of a kind master pieces.
In conclusion, Patrick M. Villano School gives extra opportunities for all students to learn something new outside of their classroom experience. Also, it allows students to get to know new teachers and students.
