Did your Thanksgiving table have any new foods, or did you feast on the same old favorites like corn, sweet potatoes, and turkey?

Thanksgiving is a holiday where people come together to say “thank you” for the good things in life. It is also a time for friends and family to gather and eat delicious food in honor of when the Pilgrims and Native Americans shared a meal and gave thanks for a successful harvest.

Stefano Tortora, a fourth grade student at Villano School tried a couple of new food this year: a cream cheese and pepper jelly appetizer and chocolate pudding pie for dessert.

“I really like the Thanksgiving mac ‘n cheese, but if I planned the menu, I would serve french fries, onion rings, chicken nuggets, pasta, and pizza,” Tortora said.

Hunter Ostroff, a fifth grader, made some changes to his Thanksgiving dinner this year.

“I love trying new Thanksgiving foods,” Ostroff said. “I decided to try cranberry sauce and cornbread this year.”
