As the school year comes to a close, the sixth graders at Patrick M. Villano Elementary School say they’re ready to move onto new adventures. After years of learning, growing, and making memories, many say they’re already looking forward to a new chapter at Emerson Junior-Senior High School. Victor Santana is one of those sixth-grade students.

“Some highlights of me being here at Villano has included going to classes and having a fun time or just having a fun time with my classmates,” Santana said. “I’m very excited about going to the high school because I want to try out a lot of new things like I did this year including Student Congress and Safety Patrol, but I also want to be involved in a lot of clubs in the high school.”

Joshua Choe is also looking back on some memories at Villano while looking forward to making new one.

“I enjoyed performing for the audience provided by the students here in the monthly O Show or yearly talent show,” Chose said. “I do well in singing, but I don’t really get the opportunity to sing to a large audience, but now since I’m at Villano I have the chance to do what I want to do, and it can improve my singing. It can improve my confidence, and it’s one of my biggest highlights at Villano.”

The school year officials ends on Thursday, June 24, with a half day.
