Have you ever read a book full of mystery, strange guests, and a big surprise at the end? At Patrick M. Villano School, students did just that during the November book talk.
The book Green Glass House was a big hit. It is about a boy, a mysterious map, and six strange guests. Any of them could be the thief! Let’s hear what two readers thought about this exciting story.
“I liked the book because of the mystery and what happens at the end,” said Ava Finnerty, a fifth grader. “It was a little confusing in the beginning, but I recommend it to people who can focus and reread parts.”
This shows that some readers may find the book tricky at first. You might have to reread some parts to understand what is happening.
“I was looking for a mystery, and this book was recommended on several sites,” said Cindy Doran, a fourth-grade teacher who runs the monthly book club meertings. “It had won the Edgar Award, which is for the best mystery books. After I read the first few pages, I knew it would be a great choice for our group.”
She added, “I loved it! I enjoy closed-room mysteries where all the characters are in the same place, and you don’t know who the culprit is. The characters were interesting, and I loved the surprise twist at the end. Some parts were a little slow, but I still wanted to keep reading.”
Now you know that some people thought the book was confusing, while others thought it was an exciting and surprising mystery!
