A Hero’s Journey symbolizes the journey of a hero and the ups and downs they experience along the way. This year’s spring concert included performances by Rock Band, Jazz Band, Beginner Band, Fourth Grade Choir, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the Fifth and Sixth Grade Choir.

This was Kayleigh Clifton’s first show at Patrick M. Villano School.

“I am in the fourth-grade beginner band, and I play the clarinet,” Clifton said. “I enjoy band because it can be fun most of the time … I like being in band because you get to spend time with friends who are not in the same class.”

Although Clifton admits waking up early in the morning for rehearsals is “not fun”, she overall said band is a good experience. Joseph Gibbs is the band director.

“I am in fifth grade, and I only do band, not chorus,” Hailey Ciavaglia said. “I play the trombone, and I do not really like my seat because I sit right next to the drums, and it hurts my ears a lot. I like playing in the fifth-grade concert band because it is enjoyable for me, and I like learning more about my instrument.”

The National Anthem was led by Antonio Ferro Morales, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sophie Anlar. Rayna Fox directed the choirs. This was her first year participating in the spring concert.
