The music of Into the Woods Jr. is a major part of the upcoming performance at Patrick M. Villano School. The production will feature a variety of songs, including solos, duets, and large group numbers. Students have been rehearsing the musical pieces as they prepare for the show.

Juliette Ignazzi, a sixth grader in the play and a singer in CavoRock, described the music in the production.

“There are a lot of complicated songs in the play … main songs like solos or duets like ‘Giants in the Sky,’ ‘On the Steps of the Palace,’ and ‘Agony,’ and then there’s a lot of big numbers,” Ignazzi said.

When asked about her favorite song, Ignazzi said: “My favorite song in Into the Woods Jr. is going to be different than other people … I want to say ‘Finale Part 6’ because everyone is in it, and it’s very expressive and amazing.”

Gio Cevallos, also a sixth grader in the production, explained that the play includes many types of songs.

“So there are going to be a lot of songs in the play really, but a lot of these songs include solos and duet songs, and then there are also big group numbers like openings and the finale parts,” Cevallos said.

When asked about his favorite song, Cevallos said: “There are lots of good songs in the play, and also this opinion will vary from different perspectives. I have to admit ‘Giants in the Sky’ is a very great song, but my favorite song in Into the Woods Jr. is the song ‘Agony.’”

Students continue to rehearse the musical numbers as they prepare for the upcoming performance of Into the Woods Jr. in spring 2026.
