Valentine’s Day is a holiday when people show love and appreciation for family members, friends, and others they care about. On this day, people may give gifts, say thank you, or plan a small surprise. Valentine’s Day is celebrated each year on February 14. Some students enjoy the special traditions they have at home.

“What I like about Valentine’s Day is waking up later than usual since my parents let me sleep in,” Reed Martie said. “I also like when my parents give me gifts for Valentine’s Day. They usually give me tiny gifts, but I am still grateful to get them. My sister also acts nicer to me on Valentine’s Day.”

Other students say the holiday is about spending time with people they care about.

“Spend time with loved ones,” Giovanni Cevallos said.

According to most students, the holiday is a time when people focus on showing kindness and appreciation to others.
