Frosty the Snowman is a winter cartoon enjoyed by many at Patrick M. Villano School. The film celebrtes its fifty-sixth anniversary this year.
“I like the animation. I like the way the characters move. As a kid, it fascinated me,” Audrey Zatarain said. “It brings back childhood memories every time I see it.”
Zatarain, a paraprofessional, rated the movie a 9 out of 10. The original movie was released in 1969, according to Movie Internet Database (IMDb), an online movie source. It’s about a snowman who comes to life once a group of kids place a magic top hat on his head. Then, the kids try to keep a greedy magician from stealing the magic hat. Mikey Sunga is a sixth-grade student who also enjoyed the movie.
“The movie was definitely hilarious,” Mikey Sunga, a sixth-grader, said. “If I really watch it, it encourages me to make a snowman myself. I definitely rate the film a seven out of ten.”
Meagan Pritchard, the sixth grade Language Arts teacher, rated the film a ten out of ten.
“I like the songs and the cute characters,’’ Pritchard said. “It definitely reminds me of playing in the snow as a kid.”
There are six other short cartoons related to the original Frosty the Snowman, according to IMDb.
