The holiday movie Home Alone has been watched by many students at Patrick M. Villano School. Home Alone is about a boy named Kevin who gets left home by himself when his big family goes on vacation. He has to protect his house from two silly robbers by using clever traps and being very brave.

“I love how Kevin has to be all alone in his house without his parents, kind of like me sometimes,” Sophie Anlar, a fifth-grader, said. “Kevin is just a funny character and has such a funny, cute, and energetic personality.”

Anlar thinks Home Alone has a lot of Christmas spirit and really shows how Kevin is courageous, determined, and persistent. There are six movies in the Home Alone series, and Anlar said she’d like to see another. Fifth-grader Riya Shaw agrees the movies are funny, but would change one part.

“It would be the part when the intruders come into Kevin’s house and when Kevin puts black paint on the stairs and one of the intruders falls. I would change that part because it’s scary and I always think it could happen to me or anybody else,” Shaw said.

She also enjoyed the hoiday spirit of the movies.

”I think the movie falls in the learning of the meaning of Christmas because at the end Kevin watches out the window and sees from the guy at church reunite with his family, and Kevin smiles,” Shaw said.

According to the Internet Movie Database, the first Home Alone movie was made in 1990. All the movies in the series are rated PG.
