What’s taking so long?

What’s going on? There hasn’t been much snow in New Jersey for the past few winters.

“I assume that climate change has something to do with it,” Kristy Friedman, the Digital Citizenship teacher, said. “l really like snow and wish we would get really big snowstorms this year because my family an I really like to go skiing.”

Climate change is the change of typical weather patterns. For example, it may snow a lot in one place, but then climate change can turn the snow into rain. It can cause things to happen like land loss and more water in the ocean.

“I do think there is a way to slow it down. Many scientists and environmental groups are working to fight against climate change,” Friedman said.

The fifth grade science teacher, Kim DellaVolpe, agrees.

“I guess systems are coming through. I don’t think you can mess with Mother Nature,” DellaVolpe said.

Whatever the reason, many students at Patrick M. Villano are hoping for snow.
