It is now spring, and there are fewer than 30 school days left in the school year. As summer gets closer, many students and staff members are making plans for vacations, camps, travel, work, and time to relax.
“I am very excited for the summertime after school because I get to do nothing and chill,” Liandro Vasquez Guzman, a fifth-grader, said. “I am planning to just stay home for a while, then go travel while also playing games,” Vasquez Guzman said.
School secretary Jackie Santalla also shared her thoughts about the summer season.
“Summertime is my favorite season of all. The longer days of sunlight and more time to enjoy the outdoors,” Santalla said. “I still work in the summer, but it’s very quiet from the regular school year.”
There are many wedding bells in store for Santalla.
“My plans for the summer will keep me very busy as my daughter, niece and goddaughter are all getting married,” Santalla said.
For some people, summer is a time to travel or celebrate special events, while for others it is a chance to relax before the next school year begins.
