The school calendar shows the winter break for students. Classess resumed on Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

The time has come! Winter break has arrived at Patrick M. Villano School. It started on Friday, December 21, and will end when students report back to school on Tuesday, January 2, 2019. Some students plan to spend their winter break right here in Emerson while others are heading far away.

“I go to the same place every year – New York City. [I’m] excited because I like to see the tree and see the winter wonderland,” Paul Coombes said.

Students staying nearby say their families plan to carry out some favorite holiday traditions. Leo Mandile is looking forward to the Secret Santa tradition at his home.

“We used to hide a pickle and whoever found it got to open the last present. It’s contents were a mystery,” Mandile explained.

Other students plan to travel far over the winter break.

“I’m going to Aruba,” Charlie Caiola said. I’m going to go swimming, cliff jumping, on a boat fishing and visiting my cousins.”

I love how you interviewed all different people with different plans for their winter break, which intrests the readers and hooks them in. It is written very well and is very organized throught the whole article. I also like the picture you chose which showed how long winter break will be. Good job!
