A monthly tradition at Patrick M. Villano School took center stage on September 29, 2025. The “O” Show is called a “good opportunity” to showcase talent, according to one of the show’s directors.

“I was excited for the first ‘O’ Show of this year because the ‘O’ Show is such an awesome event,” Joseph Gibbs, the band director, said. “I thought we had a very good first ‘O’ Show. Each performer and presenter did a fantastic job.”

During the show, Gibbs talked about how to handle and accept change, the importance of asking for help, and EPIC behaviors. Gibbs then talked about special holidays, such as Labor Day, Patriot Day, Constitution Day, International Peace Day, and Hispanic Heritage Month. The show also had three performers, including sixth grader Louie Burke who sang.

“I was very excited for the ‘O’ Show and to perform onstage because I love singing.” Burke said. “It felt nerve wracking at first, but it slowly went away when I was on stage, but I was still a little nervous., but I didn’t mess up, so I was relieved when I heard everyone cheer and that I managed a decent performance.”

The first “O” Show of the year is restricted to fifth and sixth graders so that the new fourth graders in school can see how it’s done. The other monthly “O” Shows are open to all grade levels. The “O” Shows are run by Gibbs and school social worker Amanda Binetti. The next show is on the calendar for November 26, 2025
