Sure, the Super Bowl is an event on its own, but for some people, football snacks really make game watching worthwhile. Foodies at heart consider this a day to pig out on junk food, fried food, seafood or any kind of food, for that matter. Just ask Michael DiBono, a sixth-grader, who traditionally watches the Super Bowl with his family. He has a favorite snack.

“Barbucue wings because I just love them in general, and I love the taste of barbecue,” DiBono said.

Barbucue wings are a definite staple at many Super Bowl parties.  The National Chicken Council online estimated that people would eat a whopping 1.47 billion chicken wings as they watch the Philadelphia Eagles play the Kansas City Chiefs.

The council website states that’s “enough to give more than four wings each to every man, woman and child in the United States,” and “laid end-to-end, 1.47 billion wings would circle the Earth more than 3 times.”

Aside from the tangy taste of barbeque, some football fans like to treat their sweet tooth. Norah Smith, another sixth-grader, is one of those fans.

“I had some really good brownies I made myself,” she stated.

While some people bake themselves, such as Smoth, others buy prepared desserts at the local supermarkets. Foodies can also find different salty snacks to satisfy their hunger. Joseph DiBono, a sixth-grader, is most happy a bag of Tostitos Scoops.

However football fans choose to curb their cravings, the Super Bowl can be a memorabel occasion, especially those who only came for the snacks.
