Kendrick Lamar took center stage during Super Bowl LIX. The rapper headlined the halftime show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 9, 2025. His song set included “Not Like Us”, “HUMBLE”, “DNA”, “euphoria”, and “Man at the Garden”.
While many music reviewers applauded Lamar’s performance for its creativity, James Sweeny, a fifth grader at Patrick M. Villano School, was not impressed.
“He is terrible. He sang 11 songs in two seconds,” Sweeney said.
The rhythm and blues singer, SZA, made a guest appearance with Lamar on stage. They sang both “Luther” and “All the Stars” – the latter was nominated for an Oscar, according to Biography online.
“I think she did amazing when she was on stage with Kendrick Lamar. ‘All the Stars’ was the best song in the halftime show,” Dylan Tortora, a fifth-grader, said.
