A fall festival, spooky house decorations, and full-sized candy bars – there’s no mistaking it’s Halloween time in Emerson.
“I am very excited for Halloween this year!” Alex Lang, an Emerson resident, said.
The Emerson Recreation Department, the mayor, and council hosted a fall festival on October 20. It included hay rides, arts and crafts, face painting, pumpkin picking, and food trucks. There was also a lounge area for the parents to watch football.
“I think this year’s Halloween is going to be the best Halloween,” Lang said.
Lang loves the decorated homes and the candy that some people hand out to Trick-or-Treaters. One home on Eagle Drive gave away full-sized candy bars.
“One house I really like going to every year is the house that gives bags of candy and prizes as every bag is different each year,” Lang said.,
The Emerson Volunteer Fire Department hosted the Ragamuffin Parade again. On October 26, children in their Halloween best walked from the intersection of High Street and Highland Avenue to the firehouse where there was a costume contest and refreshments.
“My favorite part of Halloween when it’s over is the big party we get to do all together at my friend’s house” Stefan Dib, Emerson resident, said.
