It’s official! The school play this year is Seussical Jr.

“I love how fun and bright this show is because of the color schemes, the costumes, and the characters, and the story line,” Amanda Binetti said. “It’s the perfect fit for Villano because our students are super talented and will be amazing in each and every role!”

Binetti is one of the show’s directors. She will work with Joey Gibbs, music director, and Allison Beckley, choral director, to bring this musical to life. According to the play’s website, the Cat in the Hat himself will be the play’s narrator. Also making an appearance will be Horton the Elephant who discovers a small speck of a population called the Whos.

“Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.  Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!” stated the play’s website.

Rehearsals will soon be underway for students.
