The move from Emerson’s lower elementary school, Memorial School, to its upper elementary school, Patrick M. Villano School, can be an exciting time for students. New teachers, new classrooms, and new faces are all part of the experience for the new fourth graders. Emma Tuazon, a fourth grader, joined beginner band and is looking forward to her first on stage performance.
“I’m excited for the Memory Lane show, and I’m also excited to learn more saxophone,” Tuazon said.
Angelica Lang, another new fourth grader, likes her new surroundings.
“I really like it because it feels bigger, and recess is a bit shorter which I like,” Lang said. Lang also joined the beginner band and plays the flute.
In the spring, Villano School will offer all its students after school clubs which is something different, as well. Students in grades Pre-K to three attend Memorial School while students in grades four through six go to Villano School.
