Sixth-grader Colton Maus is excited that the NFL season is underway. He watched the Baltimore Ravens beat the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 28-25. The game was played on September 22.

“The team I thought was going to win was the Ravens because they were 0-2,” Maus said. “I think it was just a slow start for them, and they’re still going to be good this year.”

Maus’s favorite player of the game was Lamar Jackson.

“I’m a big fan of him, and I think he is very athletic, and he is a good quarterback, and he has a bright future,” Maus said. “My favorite play of the Ravens-Cowboys game was the Derrick Henry touchdown. The Ravens only one by three points. That play was the play that changed the game,” Maus stated.

The Dallas Cowboys have always been a top competitor in the NFL. Another fierce football matchup was the Atlanta Falcons who played the Philadelphia Eagles on September 16. The Falcons won by one point with a final score of 22-21. Another sixth-grader, Rocco Liguori, had his eye on this game.

“My favorite play of the game was when the defensive player on the Falcons intercepted the ball to win the game,” Liguori said. “My favorite player that played was Saquon Barkley because I like seeing him get rushing yards and do so well, but they still eventually lost.”

Liguori thought the Eagles were going to win because he consdiers them a better team overall.

“… but it turns out that the Falcon had more heart and wanted it more than the Eagles,” Liguori said.

Declan Bahng from sixth grade watched the Minnesota Vikings outscore the New York Giants 28-6. That game was played on September 8.

“My favorite play of the game was when the Giants line blocked so badly and Danny Dimes/Daniel Jones got crushed by a Vikings player,” Bahng said.

His favorite played in the game was Daniel Jones.

“I liked seeing him get sacked,” Bahng said.
