Music fills the hallways as students get readt for the annual Spring Concert. The Beginner Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band have been practicing since the Winter Concert ended in December.

“I am so excited for each group to share all their hard work with their loved ones and for the audience to hear how much they have improved,” Joey Gibbs said. Gibbs is the band director. “The bands work very well together.”

Beginner band is for fourth graders and older student who are just starting to play an instrument. Concert Band is for most fifth graders, and Symphonic Band is for sixth graders.

The Spring Concert is schedule for Wednesday, May 29, 6 p.m., at the Emerson High School Auditorium.

“I am very excited for the Spring Concert,” Gibbs continued. “The title of the Spring Concert is Memory Lane. The pieces on the program feature songs dealing with reflection, memories, and joy.”

Allison Beckley is the new music teacher this year in charge of chorus for the Spring Concert. Her students will sing a handful of songs including a song titled Memory Lane by Haley Joelle in keeping with the concert theme.
