Having a personal computer can be very fun. You can play games, do homework, stream videos, watch social media, online shop and everything in between – as long as you take measures to keep your informations safe.

“I play video games and make videos,” Nick Arena said. “I use it about two hours everyday.”

The 16-year-old said his PC allows him ro run more frames per second (FPS) which makes video games, like Fortbite, run smoother.

To keep the system running well, Arena wants the latest files and updates. This results in a faster system with quick loading speeds.

“I like my computer because I like gaming on it, and PCs have better quality,” Alex Lang said.

The fifth-grader enjoys playing Minecraft on his PC. Lang and his family also take measures to keep safe. For example, PC owners might want to use a VPN. A VPN is a virtual private network. According to PC Magazine online, a VPN protects your private information when traveling across a public network. Also, all computer users must be careful when downloading items because new viruses pop up often, Having a strong password would make it harder for someone to hack into your PC and steal personal information. Another important responsibility of having a PC is limiting your screen time. Some people think too much screen time can be bad for your eyesight or cause stress and headaches.

Sophia Earle, fifth-grader, said she limits her screen time.

“I go on my PC for an hour everyday,” Earle said. “My favorite game on my PC is Roblox. Most of the time I use it for gaming, but sometimes I use it for homework.”
