It was a big win for the Emerson varisty boys soccer team last night as they beat Hawthorne 3 – o in the first round of state playoffs. The next round will be this Saturday at home again Park Ridge.
“Losing seasons are out of the window, and they’re not going to happen anymore. Get used to winning!” is the message the boys heard from head coach Rich Compagnone when he stepped into the varsity head coach position. Compagnone took over six years ago from the team’s junior varisty coaching spot.
“We’re a very offensive team. We score a lot of goals, and we’re a family,” said one senior player.
