Westwood Pets is a really nice store with a lot of toys, food, and pets. Employees at 15 Westwood Avenue are friendly, too. They’re never too busy to help. If you went there to get a pet, you’d probably come home with an amazing new friend. Jennifer Greiner, an employee, has been working at Westwood Pets for 25 years, and says she really enjoys it.
“We sell fish, and we sell small animals like guinea pigs and hamsters. We also have parakeets and cockatiels, different bird types and reptiles,” Greiner said. The newest pet for sale is a cockatiel named Baked Potato.
“She is really sweet. She’s 12 weeks old, and she’s looking for a perfect home,” Grenier said.
One older but very cool member of Westwood Pets is a giant tortoise named Soupy. He’s about 25 years old. Aside from selling pets, the store has toys. The toys are very durable and will leave your pet playing all day.
“It depends on the brand and how hard the animal’s bite can be,” Greiner explained. “We will never claim which ones are indestructible.”
Joey Ligouri, a fourth-grader, recommends dog treats from the store based on what his dog, a chocolate lab named Ramsay, liked.
“His favorite toy was blue and green, and it was a tug-of-war toy,” Ligouri said. “When he was younger, he loved mini squirrel toys.”
Ligouri said his dog had such a toy that made a little squeak.
All is all, Westwood Pets is a fun store with pets, supplies and lots more. You might want to think of going if you have or want a new friend to brighten up your day.
