It started with a haunted graveyard in October of 2020. Now, the Haunted Trail on Sherwood Court is a center of holiday attention in Emerson, NJ. The spooky experience was created by resident Ray Albano. He’s collected a treasure of Halloween decorations over the years and has expanded his yard display into multiple scary walkthrough trails for his own kids as well as the rest of the commuinity to enjoy.
“The Haunted Trail is an annual Emerson must see. I love carefully tip toeing through the trail and watching for creepy crawlers,” Kate Stutzel said. She visits the Halloween display every year.
Last year, Albano added a second walkthrough called the Forest Trail on the other side of his house. This side features jump scares and trail guide actors as well as creepy decorations.
Alyssa Mulhern lives next door to the Haunted Trail.
“It’s fun hearing the sound of kids laughing and yelling,” Mulhern said.
This year, Albano added yet another addition to the haunted walkthrough which he wants to remain a suprise for trailgoers. All community members are welcome to come and visit – weather permitting – from 7 to 9 p.m. on October 27, 28, 29 or 31 from 7 to 9 p.m.
