Serving students more than snack

Aside from these typical school snacks,, sixth-graders are getting served some additional academic instruction.
It’s more than snack time for sixth graders at Patrick M. Villano School. Teachers added an activity every Wednesday and Thursday.
“In these groups, you learn new things about different subjects,” sixth-grader Joshua Varghese said. “You get challenges or things that you need to work on.”
Sixth graders spend time with grade-level teachers to deepen their learning. Whether it’s marking up text, writing a good sentence or practicing Math concepts, the teachers are chatting about learning while the students are snacking.
“These groups are very fun, and I want to do more of these in the future,” sixth-grader Joseph Kim said.
Students walk to their Specials after this enhanced snack time.
