A big snowfall hit Emerson, NJ on December 17, 2020. Several inches covered the ground, making the streets looks like a Winter Wonderland.

Even though this winter break was different because of COVID-19, it was still fun and safe for many Emerson children. It meant a lot of indoor family time, but that  was fine according to Giana Kim, a sixth grader at Patrick M. Villano School.

“I played games with my family, I watched a couple of Netflix shows, and on Christmas, I got a Nintendo switch and played with it over winter break,” Kim explained.

Students in the Emerson Public School District had winter break from Wednesday, December 23, to Monday, January 4, 2021. Madeline Kim, another student, was excited to bake in her kitchen and play in some leftover snow from the previous week’s snowstorm.

“I played in the cold snow, and I made a slide out of the snow,” she said.
