Students love Valentine’s Day

Fourth grade students in Kristin Vitale’s class get into the Valentine’s Day spirit with an ice cream party. Students traditionally celebrate the holiday with their homeroom peers in school on February 14.
Valentine’s Day is a special day for people to show their love and appreciation to family and friends. Many students at Patrick M. Villano School enjoy the day. Sixth-grader Kayla Mulligan shares what she likes best about the holiday.
“I think spending time with your friends and family,“ Mulligan said.
Kylie Grompone and Dani Dominquez, both fifth-graders, enjoy gift-giving and gift-getting.
“I like that I get a lot of chocolate because chocolate is very good,” Dominguez said.
“I love the candies and chocolates,“ Grompone said.
Students traditionally celebrate in school with a class part on February 14. Some give small gifts to peers or write notes and cards. Class parents organize fresh foods to eat and games to play.
