Many people enjoy giving gifts as much as receiving them over the holidays.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. It’s a time when giving and receiving presents makes people feel special. Lea Wolhrab is a fifth-grader student at Patrick M. Villano Elementary school who has a wish list.

“One of the items on my wish list is a weighted blanket. It will keep me nice, warm and cozy. I love to be nice and comfortable” Wolhrab explained.

Lea also wants to buy a bracelet for her mom for the holidays.

“One thing I would like to buy is a bracelet for my mom with my dad because when she goes out she likes to wear a lot of bracelets. Also, to show her how much I care about her,” Wohlrab said.

Brianna Tannenholz who is also a fifth-grader at Patrick M. Villano Elementary school has some special gift ideas of her own.

“One thing that is on my wish list is a cat. I had a cat but we had to give her back, but a cat would make me extremely happy!” Tannenholz exclaimed.

Tannenholz’s brother wants a headset, and she is happily trying to get him one.

“One thing I would like to buy is a new headset for my brother. He has been wanting one for a while, and also it will help him be a little more quiet,”  Tannenholz said.

Cynthia Doran, a fourth grade teacher, hopes to get a lot of books over the holiday because she loves to read. Doran also looks forward to giving presents to her two daughters.

“I love too see the look on their faces when I give them a gift. It just makes me feel happy,” said Doran

Breanne DeCarlo is a fifth grade teacher who feels the same way about giving gifts.

“My favorite part of giving a gift is seeing the recipient smile. It is fun to see the person receiving the gift get excited about it, maybe even using it right away!” DeCarlo said. “My favorite part of receiving a gift is the thought that the gift-giver put into choosing it for me! My husband always gives me very thoughtful presents, and he loves to explain how he got the idea and why he thought I would like the gift or be able to use it.”

This year, DeCarlo hopes to receive a really warm winter hat because she likes to take walks in almost any kind of weather and will need a warm hat when the weather turns even colder.
