Villano’s newest Cavo
January 28, 2022
Villano gained a new fifth grade teacher this year, Ms. Kenzie Sullivan. Sullivan grew up just a few towns away in Montvale, NJ. It is there that she learned to love reading. Sullivan graduated from Montclair University with a Masters in Elementary Education and Special Education. Before coming to Villano, Sullivan taught 3rd grade for two years.
¨My favorite part about teaching is building relationships with my students and seeing their faces when a spark goes off in their heads,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan understands that students can feel nervous and uncomfortable with new information. She lets her students know that it’s okay to be nervous, and that with practice they will be more confident.
¨My favorite activity to do with my students is our secret shout outs,” Sullivan said. “In our classroom we have a box where students can write secret shout outs to their classmates about things that they have done to make them feel good about themselves. Every Friday we read the secret shout outs for the week.¨
Sullivan’s favorite subject to teach is Reading. She loves to teach new skills that will improve her students’ learning. It makes sense that her favorite subject to teach is reading, as it is one of her favorite pastimes. One of her New Year’s resolutions is to read more books.
Would You Rather?
Wendy’s or McDonalds?
“If I had to choose between Wendy’s or McDonalds, I would choose Wendy’s hands down! You can’t go wrong with their chicken nuggets and chocolate frosty!”
Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts?
“If I had to choose between Dunkin or Starbucks, I would choose Starbucks! I love their coffee. The stronger the better!”
Winter or Summer?
“If had to choose between summer or winter, I would choose Summer every time! Winter is too cold for me. I like the warmth and being able to be outside.”
