‘Tis the season for fun
December 21, 2021
As winter break peeks around the corner, some students are thinking about fun activities to fill the empty days instead of just sitting around their house. Fifth grader Daniela Elisano is planning for some creative traditions.
“Bake Christmas cookies, watch Christmas movies, make gingerbread houses, and go ice skating,” Elisano explained.
Elisano has her entire winter break filled with activities. The activities take many days to complete, so she says she won’t have to worry about doing nothing all day. Students aren’t the only ones planning fun over the winter break.
“Make monkey bread and hide a pickle ornament,” Elizabeth Hill said.
Hill is a fifth-grade teacher at Patrick M. Villano School. Her activities may only fill one day, but Hill said they are really fun for her whole family. Some people enjoy competitive activities.
“Scavenger hunt and a Christmas bake-off,” fourth-grader Dylan Giaritta voiced.
While some traditions and activities are unique, students and staff say all are fun. Winter break in the Emerson Public School District starts on Monday, December 27. Students come back to school on Monday, January 3, 2022.
