Meet Mrs. Malzahn

You know the new subject, Heath and Wellness, but do you know the teacher? Colleen Malzahn is a new teacher to Patrick M. Villano School, but she’s not new to the district. She’s been the girls’ basketball head coach at Emerson Jr.-Sr. High School for a while.

“I love being a health and wellness teacher,” Malzahn smiled. “I feel like it’s what I was meant  to do.”

Malzhan has three degrees, two which are Masters and one is a Bachelors.

“Ms. M is a really great teacher. She helps teach healthy [skills],”  5th grader Jacob Aying states.

Malzhan teaches different components of fitness such as muscular endurance. She also shared a hidden talent.

“[Something that might surprise you is] I was a competitive Irish dancer my whole life,” Maltzan said.
