Respect given to Emerson police offiers

March 2, 2020

After spending time with the students in the classroom and at recess, Emerson police officers lunched with sixth graders.

About a half dozen members of the Emerson police department visited sixth grade students as part of the school’s year long respect project. The officers talked about their careers in law enforcement, played games outside at recess, and ate lunch in the cafeteria with the students. The students thanked the officers for teaching them to make good choices about not using drugs and alcohol through the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Assistance Education) program. In a letter to Chief Michael Mazzeo, a former students at the school, the students expressed their appreciation to the offiers for sponsoring town events such as Emerson Day and Cop Camp Out.
