Allie DeOrio beams with excitement for being recognized as Citizen of the Month in 4th grade. She earned the title for being caring to classmates.

When fourth grader Allie DeOrio heard that she got a Citizen of the Month award for positively caring for other students, her smile became brighter than the sun. She was very proud and satisfied to have received this award.

“I was very surprised to receive this award mainly because I don’t receive too many awards,” DeOrio said.

The Citizen of the Month award at Patrick M. Villano School isn’t just any award. It is an award for students who put their best foot forward and show good character. Positive character traits include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenhip.

Fellow fourth grader Anjali Mathew believes DeOrio deserves this award.

“She definitely deserves this award because in class she is very sweet, helps people when they need it, and always knows how to cheer people up,” Mathew beamed.

Mathew thinks that DeOrio is a very good influence on her peers and will inspire others to be caring, as well.
