Water splashes onto the ground from a gutter at Patrick M. Villano School during a brief rain shower on May 31. The Emerson area is in for a rain-filled week ahead with mostly cloudy and overcast skies.

This week’s forecast will be pretty cloudy and rainy, according to one online weather service. It will be pretty humid and hot all week with clouds, too, except on Wednesday. Here’s a closer look:

Friday, June 1 – The weather will be very warm with a high of 86 degrees and a low of 71 degrees.

Saturday, June 2 – The weather will be stormy and muggy. However, the high temperature is expected to be 80 degrees and the low will be about 61 degrees. Stay dry.

Sunday, June 3 – The weather will be cloudy. This will be one of the more dry days in the week ahead. The high temperature is expected to be 70 degrees and the low may be a cool 52 degrees. Enjoy this day.

Monday, June 4 – This will likely be another rainy day with a high temperature of 62 degrees and a low of 53 degrees. Make sure to bring an umbrella and a light jacket with you, if you are headed outside.

Tuesday, June 5 – More rain is expected, but not surprising considering it’s spring, after all. This the Spirit of NJ boat trip for the 6th grade class.

Wednesday, June 6 –  We’re expecting a high temperature of 66 degrees and a low of 53 degrees.

Thursday, June 7 – Another rainy day with a high of 70 degrees and a low of 56 degrees. This seems to be the last rainy day, at least for now.

Friday, June 8 – The streak is over. Four days of on and off rain turns into clouds with a  high temperature of 75 degrees and a low of 61 degrees.
