Ryan Vieni, a sixth-grader at Patrick M. Villano School, earned the title of Citizen of the Month for February. Vieni is very thankful for the honor.

When this sixth grade student heard his name called for Citizen of the Month, his face lit up in happiness. The crowd could see how proud he felt at the moment he received his award certificate. When asked to describe how he felt just using just one word, Ryan Vieni said, “Thankful. Very thankful.”

Vieni earned the title Citizen of the Month at the Mr. O Show in February 2018. The show is a time to celebrate the achievements of all students who work very hard and reach their full potential. The students who earn the title Citizen of the Month put their best foot forward even when no one is watching.

“It feels amazing to be rewarded for all the work I have done this month. It gives you the great feeling that people know that you are doing the right thing and appreciate you,” Vieni said.

Other students agree that Vieni is very deserving of this reward. Isabella Hassett, also from sixth grade, supports her classmate.

“He is respectful towards students and teachers, and he is always holding the door for people walking by. There was never a time that he wasn’t there to help someone who was in need,” Hassett said.
