The peregrine falcone is the subject of many books, both nonfiction and fiction. In sixth grade, students may choose to read My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George which is a story about a boy who has a pet peregrine falcon.

The peregrine falcon the fastest animal on record. Some people think that the cheetah is the fastest animal, but according to online research, the peregrine falcon can fly an astonishing 200 miles per hour. The cheetah can reach speeds of  about 70 miles per hour running short distances on land. Adult peregrine falcons are greyish black and have a yellow beak with black at the tip. The falcon has really sharp black talons. Its underside is speckled white with black dots as seen in the photo.
